I actually like Charles. He was a great Preby.

Um, Charles Finney was no Presbyterian. He emphatically rejected the Westminster Standards. He also jettisoned original sin and justification by faith alone.

Bob Godfrey at Westminster Seminary West has a trenchant observation about Finney. Whenever he teaches on the subject he always makes his students read Finney's own writings, otherwise they'd never believe that Godfrey was describing Finney's teachings accurately.

I have a copy of Finney's Systematic Theology. Speaking as an evangelical Protestant, I can't see the biblical gospel there.
